Why It Matters
Ontario municipalities are struggling to fill building code official roles, leading to permit delays and slower housing development. This program directly addresses the skills gap while opening career doors for internationally trained professionals.
“This isn’t just about filling jobs — it’s about integrating skilled newcomers and experienced tradespeople into a profession that directly impacts community growth,” said a spokesperson from the Ontario Building Officials Association.
